“Stillness + Flow”

Part of the Sovereignties Exhibition
- 21 scarves by 21 women -

Through stillness we find flow, and through flow, stillness.

We move through our days mostly unconscious on autopilot, notches of time ever-accumulating. Throughout this blurred expanse of forward motion, ‘golden’ moments disrupt by contrast in their sensory fullness. Elevated for their beauty, joy, meaning, poignancy or lessons, these moments give our days texture and aliveness, often rewarding us with great insight, creative spark and a sense of momentum.

This scarf is intended as both a visual reminder and an invitation to intentionally create the conditions that will elicit more elevated moments in your life.

“Movement makes most sense when grounded in stillness” – Pico Iyer

A scarf can be many powerful things — an object of protection or ritual, a signalling device, an expression of beauty, a statement of purpose or of resistance.

Sovereignties’ is a collection of silk scarves that serve as resonant tactile pieces of wisdom shared through the artful practice of each distinct maker.

As the world paused this year, creativity persisted. These resulting wearable art pieces are potent reminders that resound in our collective imagination, to trust our true voices and believe in the healing and transformative nature of our creative impulses.

This is a powerful and glamorous gathering.
These ‘sovereignties‘ embody a synergistic invocation of hope, imagination and resilience.
